WWIL family goes for a picnic

Mar 10, 2010

The Wire and Wireless (Noida) associates and their families recently went for a picnic. There were almost 70 associates and their families who took a break from their routine activities and went for the day long activity. The destination for the outing was the picturesque Heritage Resort at Manesar.

The day was filled with fun, excitement, recreational activities, competitive games, surprise gifts and sumptuous food. The venue set against the backdrop of a Rajasthani Haveli seemed the perfect get away for the occasion.

The outing started with associates reaching Manesar from Noida in a bus. After reaching Manesar Heritage Resort, they were served welcome drinks with variety of snacks. After this the first gaming session took place. Here the couples were quizzed on each others likes and dislikes. This brought to light how much they know their better half.

Various family games followed this. Games such as musical chairs, dance competition for children’s, tug- of- war and paper dance competition were conducted. The excitement and passion with which the families participated lightened the atmosphere. In between the competitions, there were jokes, associates poking fun of each other with perfect one liners, funny anecdotes. The constant gulping drinks and munching snacks carried on through out the day.

The highlight of the day was the amount of fun the children had as the open lawns helped them to play various outdoor games, there were horse and camel rides and many other activities which kept them occupied throughout the day.

During the second half of the day Antakashari contest was organized where associates with their spouses participated and sang number of old and new melodies. Songs from early 60s and 70s filled the atmosphere.

The evening saw everyone drop their inhibitions and shake a leg on the dance floor. There were foot tapping Indian numbers as well as rock numbers which were played. No one wanted the day to end. The last activity of the day was a Tug-of- War where both sides across the rope used all their muscle and power to win.

At the end of the day everyone walked away as a winner. Everyone left with a refreshed mind and hope for many such activities in the future.  Sudhir Agarwal (CEO, WWIL) and his wife gave away gifts to the winners and thanked everyone for their participation and appreciated the Human Resource department and the organizing committee for a memorable day.

The Delhi office too had organized a one day picnic for its associates in the last week of February, 2010 which was well appreciated by everyone.
