Zee Kannada turned one on May 11, 2007, and what a celebration it was! The anniversary bash – ‘Greeshma Vrishti 2007’, at the Palace Grounds, Bangalore, was a tribute to the State’s culture and heritage. The programme was carried out in true Kannada style with the look and feel of the place complementing it.

The traditional Dolu Kunita dancers ushered the guests in. The colourful extravaganza took off with a beautifully synchronised dance performance to the tune of Naada Geethe, the State anthem. This was followed by other entertaining and musical performances. Vasant Bandekar, a Guinness Book record holder, gave a rib-tickling performance with his unique mimicry style. The entire show was neatly woven by the two popular cine stars/ anchors, Dilip Raj and Neetasri.

The occasion was a spectacular gala since it was the first major congregation of the galaxy of stars from the Kannada film industry. Almost the entire film fraternity graced the occasion, including the bigwigs like Parvatamma Rajkumar, Jayanti, Ravichandran, Ramesh Arvind, Jayamala, Ramya, Anu Prabhakar, Rakshita, Darshan, Dwaarkeesh, Devraj, Sa Ra Govind, Rockline Venkatesh, Naveen Krishnan, Gurukiran, Jaggesh, Raghavendra Rajkumar and more.
