Sushil Bansal wins gift hamper

May 17, 2007

Sushil Bansal, Manager(Commercial)     at EsselWorld, Mumbai, has won himself a gift hamper comprising   a Play TV travel bag and a T-Shirt/ cap from Zee TV for posting his views on the Essel Newsletter Discussion Board.

The Essel Newsletter had sought views from Essel associates on whether meetings yield results or are they an obstacle for task-oriented employees.

Here is Sushil’s response:

“Meetings are meaningful when certain points are followed - when the topic of the meeting is confidential; when you have to take a quick decision and you can’t wait for email or phone. At a meeting, a quick response/ opinion can be obtained from concerned people in mass instead of waiting till everyone sends a reply. You can also discuss your view on that topic immediately.

E-mails or letter can’t be more effective than a person. Sometimes it is necessary to talk face to face so that you can put your point strongly and you can also watch facial expression of other members.

Meeting builds strong and healthy relationship among management and executives. All members feel they are a special part of organisation when you discussed topics personally and get opinions from them. The agenda of the meeting has to be clear and all members should be intimated well in advance so that they can come prepared.”
