Twin parks win Civic Award

Pan India Paryatan Ltd (PIPL), which runs the twin parks EsselWorld and Water Kingdom, has won the Bombay Chamber Civic Award in the category of Beautification towards undertaking exemplary initiatives in the area of environment preservation and enhancement.

 

The award was received by Mahesh Bhandari, CEO, PIPL (now Essel Infraprojects) and Nilesh Mistry, Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, at a ceremony at the Cricket Club of India on May 29, 2007. The award ceremony was presided by the Municipal Commissioner Dr Jairaj Phatak with Shabana Azmi as the guest of honour.

 

The Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry invites nominations to receognise and encourage consistent efforts made by corporates to improve civic amenities and beautification in and around Mumbai. The Awards aim to promote good corporate citizenship.

 

The panel of judges for this year’s award had Simon Gamell, Director, British Council, S Parashuraman, Director, Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Sumant Wandrekar, Chairman, Rachna Sansad.
