Ashish Kaul felicitated by J&K CM

Jun 11, 2007

Ashish Kaul, Head of Corporate Brand Development, Essel Group, was honoured by the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad, for his outstanding contribution to society. The felicitation ceremony was organised by Pir Panchal, a social service organisation that works towards various humanitarian causes, social values and customs.

Ashish is actively involved in various social service activities, especially in the area of education, in Jammu and Kashmir. Besides raising funds for the education of the girl child and slum children, he has also instituted scholarships for deprived children. He has mobilised funds to organise medical camps for slum children. In addition, Ashish has instituted funding for rehabilitation schemes for Kashmiri migrants.

“I am deeply honoured by this recognition. The cause of education has always been close to me and this is my humble way of giving back to society and putting a smile on the face of people deprived of their due,” stated Ashish.

The award ceremony was held on the sprawling lawns of the Hari Niwas Palace, the erstwhile palace of Maharaja Hari Singh, in Jammu. Besides Ashish, the other recipients of the award were veteran singer Jagjit Singh and noted writer director Ravi Rai. The occasion was attended by over 2000 people including State ministers, bureaucrats, police officers and other dignitaries of the State.
