ESSEL INFRAPROJECTS LIMITED (EIL)

Essel Infraprojects Limited (EIL) has entered into infrastructure sector in a big way. Apart from owning the largest amusement park in India - Esselworld, and Asia's largest theme water park – Water Kingdom, the Group has now ventured into a range of businesses such as ITES, Infrastructure sector like Roads, SEZs, Airports Modernization, Urban Infrastructure, Sports Infrastructure and also Water Management, Education, Media and Entertainment.

ROADS
EIL is dynamically pursuing various road projects across India. The 75.6 kms near Nasik is completed with project outlay of INR 110 cr. The development of 125 Kms 4 lane road near Indore, MP, with a project outlay of INR 729 crores on BOT Model will be completed by March 2010.  The Company is aggressively bidding for other NHAI and State Projects.

SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE (SEZ)

The Company is    setting up a Media and Entertainment related SEZ on 110 hectares of its own land in Mumbai that will focus on Entertainment, Leisure, Recreation, Wellness and Sports. It is coming up in RTDZ zone notified by Government of Maharashtra with a Project outlay of INR 894 crores.EIL is one of the short listed bidders for a 1000 hectare Multi Product SEZ adjoining Pithampura and Kheda in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

AIRPORTS

Essel – TAV Consortium was one of the successful bidders to get short listed during the first stage of Mumbai and Delhi Airport privatization process. Looking forward to the growing potential for private players in this sector EIL has submitted a request for qualification in the construction of  twelve upcoming airport projects in Maharashtra.

URBAN INFRASTUCTURE

• Family Recreation Center, Bhopal.
       EIL is planning to develop a Family Recreation Centre, a fun destination in Bhopal, on a 50 acre plot allotted by Government of Madhya Pradesh with a Project outlay of INR 33 crores.

• ESSEL Tower, Hyderabad
       EIL is developing a 2.5 million sq ft of residential and commercial area on a joint development basis with a Project outlay of INR 800 crores in Kukatpally in Hyderabad on National Highway, which is considered to be Asia’s largest township.    

SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURE
• Sports City , Bhopal

EIL has recently won a bid for development of Sports Infrastructure in Bhopal on a 172 acres area, with 50 acres dedicated to Sports Infrastructure on a Build Transfer (BT) Basis and development of 122 acres with a Golf course, Residential, Multiplex, 5 Star Hotels and Commercial development, from Government of Madhya Pradesh on a public private partnership (PPP) model .The Sports Infrastructure includes Cricket, Tennis, Indoor Stadia, Aquatic center and Hostel with a Project outlay of INR. 1494 crores.

WASTE WATER MANAGEMENT

EIL intends to participate in this rapidly growing sector, and is currently exploring various projects in Water Distribution, Irrigation, De-Salination, and Solid Waste Management including Water Treatment and Power Generation.

MEDIA

The company has embarked upon two interesting media projects - the private FM radio and Television space. A total of five radio stations Amritsar, Varanasi, Patiala, Allahabad and   Agra are currently operational.
         
SYNERGY WITHIN THE GROUP

• Educational project for TALEEM, BKC, Mumbai

EIL has won a bid from MMRDA, for development of a School and other Educational facilities for TALEEM, a trust promoted by ESSEL Group with a Project outlay of INR 250 cr.

• Media city, Tollygunj, Kolkata
A media city that would include a Studio, Mall and Residential Service Apartments will be developed for ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, on a plot allotted by the Government of WB at Tollygunj with a Project outlay of  INR 133 crores.

• IT Park, Salt Lake city,Kolkata
India Cable-Net an ESSEL promoted company is allotted a plot by the West Bengal Electronics Industrial Development Corporation Ltd, where EIL will play a major role as a joint developer with a Project outlay of INR 80 crores.

• Dubai Towers, Dubai
Pan Asia Infrastructure, an ESSEL promoted Company is allotted a plot in the Media City at Dubai. EIL has just completed a tower of 2 Lakh sq. ft. for Media related office Space and Restaurants with a project outlay of 80 million AEDs.

CSR INITIATIVES BY EIL

As part of EIL’s long term commitment to the growth and development of Gorai-Manori-Uttan region, ‘Project Vidya’ was started on Children’s Day November 14, 2007. The project has grown to cover 125 girls today studying in various aided and unaided schools in the area .EIL is lending a helping hand to the local populace by operating our own ferry for the daily commute of villagers, especially for students, as and when the ferry run by the B.M.C. breaks down.EIL is providing bus passes to 50 students of the B.M.C. School at Gorai, from Children’s Day this year. In addition, EIL has also provided much needed educational toys to Balwadis at Malawani and Manori.In the Road Project, EIL has constructed religious places of worship and re-laid water pipelines for villagers at its own cost as part of road development work. The company has also taken up construction of effective drainage lines to help prevent villages from getting inundatied during rainy season.

Mr.C.Venkataramana, CEO, Essel Infraprojects Ltd.

Mr.C.Venkataramana is a Mechanical Engineer and has significant experience in infrastructure industry predominantly In Airports, Roads, Power and Urban Infrastructure Projects. He has played a key role in Mumbai International Airport Project, the first six-lane BOT project from Jaipur to Kishangarh, Hydel power projects in Himachal Pradesh, and a 3000 acre multi-product SEZ in Tamil Nadu apart from various Urban Infrastructure projects.
He has come with a background of working in esteemed organizations like Muruguppa Group, Lloyds Steel, Ispat Industries Ltd and GVK Group, Hyderabad.
