Zee News anchor wins award

Zee News anchor and producer Naveen Soni has won the Best Business Anchor Award instituted by Amity International Business School. The award will be given away during the International Business Summit & Research Conference (INBUSH 2008) at Amity International Business School on February 22, 2008. Naveen was chosen for the award after in-house research at Amity which comprised of compiling and scrutinising information gathered through student polls to rate the most admired media personality. The key traits on which the nominees were marked were Interpersonal Intelligence, Team Involvement, Authenticity and Integrity and Mentoring and Developing. "Getting an award feels good as it is a recognition of one's efforts to make a difference to common investors' lives. My utmost priority is to connect with viewers for their economic prosperity in a language which is simple to understand," says Naveen. Naveen can be seen hosting shows like Aaj ka bazar-kahan lagaayein paisa - a precursor to market opening at 8am, Aapka Bazaar – a caller-based show on the stock market at 10:30am, Antim Baazi at market closing time and Money Guru – a caller based show on personal finance at 6:30pm. Naveen was earlier associated with CNBC India. A trained Business Economist, he did his post-graduation in Business Economics (MBE) from Kurukshetra University. He started his career in business broadcast journalism with the Delhi-based Jain TV in 2001. He later joined Nimbus to host stock market shows on Doordarshan. He came back to Delhi to rejoin Jain TV for a short stint before joining CNBC. “The Indian economy is growing at the second highest pace in the world, but not everyone is benefiting from it. I am thankful to the Almighty for placing me in a position where I can help people achieve their financial goals, by telling them the ways of disciplined investing in various asset classes,” adds Naveen.
