In an attempt to have an all-India readership, DNA has forayed into the Gujarat market with a simultaneous launch of its Ahmedabad and Surat editions. Both the edition were priced at Re 1 – much less than the price charged by the market leaders – TOI and Indian Express. “DNA, through its innovative content and cutting edge design has already created a stir in the Mumbai market, reflected in its 20 per cent growth in readership which now stands at a whopping 6.32 lakh as per the Indian Readership Survey 07,” DNA's CEO K U Rao stated. “The launch of these new editions is a huge step forward for us and a gentle reminder to all that we are now propelling forward,” he added. DNA Ahmedabad resident editor Shyam Parekh said that in-depth research had helped in adapting the richness of DNA Mumbai - in content and design - to Ahmedabad's English readers. “The attempt is to give them an interesting mix of local news, sport and entertainment apart from well-rounded coverage of regional and national events,” he said.
