Twenty students from three institutions gathered at the Noida premises of Zee Institute of Media Arts (ZIMA) to avail the rare opportunity of benefiting from the rich experience of Dr. Vikrant Kishore, a noted filmmaker and academic, during a Video Production Workshop organised by ZIMA on February 14, 2017.
Dr. Kishore had come all the way from Australia to conduct this workshop and to take up other academic pursuits. He is currently working with RMIT University, Melbourne.
The students from JIMS Vasant Kunj, K R Mangalam University, Gurugram, and Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi, were overwhelmed at having gained so much from the workshop. The students were accompanied by three faculty members from each of these institutions.
Mr. Charu Chandra Pathak and Ms. Shikha Sharma, faculty at K R Mangalam University, Gurugram, felt that the horizon of their students opened up by getting this exposure on international practices in production. Mr. Anish Saxena, faculty at JIMS Vasant Kunj, said that the workshop was rich in content and the students owed so much to Dr. Kishore for his valuable input.
Mr. Mehraj Dube, Deputy Vice President, Group Resource, Essel Group and Head of Marketing, Zee Media, graced the closing function of the workshop. He applauded the efforts made by ZIMA to enhance the learning experience of budding media professionals. He encouraged the workshop participants with his motivational words.
Dr. Vikrant Kishore apprised the students of his production work at RMIT University as well as outside, and expressed hope that the students, having learned the nuances of production, will be able to accomplish some good work.
Dr. Ambrish Saxena, Academic Head, ZIMA and ZICA, expressed gratitude to Dr. Kishore for conducting the workshop. Ms. Deepa Zutshi, senior faculty, familiarised everybody with the activities of ZIMA while Ms. Lakhvinder Kaur, Counsellor, welcomed Dr. Kishore. Mr. Dube and Dr. Kishore also gave away certificates to the participants during the closing ceremony of the workshop.
