The latest issue of Forbes Asia (dated July 2017) features Dr. Subhash Chandra (DSC), Chairman - Essel Group & ZEE in their list of 'Asia's 2017 Heroes Of Philanthropy'. DSC's profile highlights his philanthropic initiatives including DSC Foundation, Sarthi initiative and Ekal Global.
Forbes Asia's annual 'Heroes of Philanthropy' issue profiles men and women from the Asia-Pacific region who have made news with their altruism over the past year and who have compiled a record of notable contributions over the years. The magazine focuses on true philanthropists - people who donate from their own money, not their company's (unless they own most of the company). The list also does not consider people who work in philanthropy solely as foundation heads, volunteers or fundraisers. The focus is on the people supplying the financing and sketching the broad vision. Other Indians on the 2017 list include Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, Mr. Sanjay Lalbhai, Chairman & Managing Director, Arvind, Mr. Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Founder & Executive Vice Chairman, Info Edge (India), Mr. Muthalampet Mahadevan, Chairman, Oriental Cuisines and Mr. Rajiv Mehta, Managing Director, Surat Diamond Jewellery.
