Essel Infraprojects Ltd has partnered with the international production house Octtane for a new generation of 'green TV' programmes touching on environmental issues and green living. As global concern over climate warming mounts, green issues are being worked into various formats. Green TV is prime-time TV now. “There's a growing demand from our own domestic audiences for high-quality factual entertainment. We are not looking just at this as a simple information-based documentary, but at the film, as well as the overall entertainment value of the concept,” stated Mahesh Bhandari, CEO, Essel Infraprojects. “We will look for projects with a more global appeal in terms of entertainment,” he added. Octtane will present its high-profile factual product – Ocean, a film, internet, book, DVDs and education products. Ocean does not concentrate just on natural history, but will include science and mythology to help tell the story. Pre-production started last September, with shooting slated for later this year and next and for release in 2009, with the movie following on that winter.
