India's popular motivational youth show, Dr. Subhash Chandra (DSC) Show travels to Rajya Sabha MP, Dr. Subhash Chandra's hometown, Hisar for the first time

Oct 04, 2017

Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Chairman - Essel Group, Dr. Subhash Chandra (DSC) today addressed over 500 enthusiastic students of Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar for the very first episode of India's popular motivational youth show, the Dr. Subhash Chandra (DSC) Show to be shot in his hometown, Hisar. During this visit, Dr. Chandra drew from his own personal experiences to enlighten students on the 'Importance of Ethics in Life'. The DSC Show has returned to screens with a fresh look and format with an aim to showcase inspirational stories of people from different backgrounds. This episode shot in Hisar will be telecasted on Zee Media's channels on October 14th with a repeat on October 15th, 2017.

The inspirational guest for this episode was Mr. Ved Jhandai, Founder & Secretary, Thalassemia Society, Hisar who has made it his mission to provide hope for others in this region by creating awareness about thalassemia and taking action to combat this disease through the organization of blood donation camps and drives. The change-maker invited for this episode was Hockey Coach, Mr. Rajender Sihag who after representing India at many national and international level Hockey tournaments was forced to leave the team due to personal reasons. He now provides hockey training to youth in the village of Dabra in Haryana free-of-cost, to ensure that no child in the region faces any situation where he or she would have to give up on their dream of pursuing this sport.

Sharing his views on the 'Importance of Ethics in life', Dr. Subhash Chandra said, "We humans are unique with distinctive features, of which the moral sense is one and, if we are to agree with Darwin, the most important one. Ethics refer to society's sense of the right way of living our daily lives. One can observe ethical behaviour by developing habits such as sincerity, respect for self and others, respect for time, respect for work and respect for our environment. Besides these ethics in our domestic life, our work place also demands certain specific ethics such as regularity and punctuality, confidentiality, loyalty, maintaining cordial relations with colleagues and clients, and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. By being moral and practicing ethical behaviour, we not only enrich our lives but also the lives of those around us."

Motivating the students to practice moral decisions, Dr. Chandra added, "It's especially important to live a moral life when we are young, as it is helpful to exercise and practise these concepts before being confronted with more complex issues. Practising and taking efforts to make moral decisions throughout life will pay dividends when we are faced with serious moral dilemmas. Even if you cannot be totally selfless in practising ethical behaviour you can do it for your own good because as they say- 'Kar bhala, to ho bhala'".
