'Maharashtra cha Favourite Kon?' Suvarndashak Sohala

Zee Talkies brought to its viewers the much-awaited Viewer's Choice Awards - 'Maharashtra cha Favourite Kon?' on 26th Dec'21. The prestigious IP is known to celebrate the best of Marathi Cinema year on year.
 
This year, the flagship event hosted the grandest show by taking it beyond the confines of a year and celebrated a Decade of Marathi Cinema! This power packed special edition was called 'Maharashtra cha Favourite Kon?' Suvarna Dashak Sohala. It was a star-studded occasion where the Marathi film industry celebrated the favourite talent of the past decade.

The winners of 2010-2019 across 12 categories were pitted against each other as nominees and Maharashtra voted for their favourites of the decade. Everyone was curious about who would be the best amongst them? Marathi cinema lovers overwhelmingly voted for 'Sairat' making it the Favourite Film of the decade. The Favourite Actor Male & Female awards were bagged by Riteish Deshmukh ('Lai Bhari') and Rinku Rajguru ('Sairat') respectively. Nagraj Manjule ('Sairat') won the Favourite Director award while Ankush Chaudhari ('Duniyadari') and Sai Tamhankar ('Classmates') won the awards for the Favourite Supporting Actor Male and Female respectively. Praveen Tarde ('Mulshi Pattern') with his incredible acting won the hearts of the viewers to win the title of Favourite Villain. The song, 'Zingat' from 'Sairat' which continues to rock the nation till date, was declared the Favourite Song and Ajay-Atul won the Favourite Singer (Male) award for the same. Arya Ambekar was voted the Favourite Singer (Female) for the song 'Hridayat Waje Something' from the movie 'Tee Saddhya Kay Karte'. Maharashtra chose Sonalee Kulkarni as the Popular Face and Riteish Deshmukh as the Favorite Style Icon of the Decade.

The show was kick started with a Ganesh Vandana performed by Siddharth Jadhav and Sonalee Kulkarni, followed by hilarious skits and dance performances by Vaibhav Tatwawadi and veteran actresses Varsha Usgaonkar and Kishori Shahane to name a few. The hosts Swwapnil Joshi and Amey Wagh along with Mahesh Manjrekar had the audience in splits with their witty comments and smart retorts. This year veteran actor Ramesh Deo and veteran actress Sulochana Latkar were invited to the show, where the industry got together to seek their blessings, be inspired by their achievements, and wish for their continued good health.

The presence of such stalwarts made 'Maharashtra cha Favourite Kon?' Suvarndashak Sohala a memorable one. Zee Talkies will continue to create new avenues and opportunities for the glorious future of Marathi cinema in next decade.
