Dec 10, 2007 Zee News has launched 'Modi Ka Mahabharat' to capture the twists and turns of the forthcoming assembly election in Gujarat. 'Modi Ka Mahabharat' which started on December 1, 2007, is an impressive programming schedule with a battery of highly experienced reporters and analysts.
Apart from the regular updates on elections, the channel will telecast 'Aapuno Modi Ya Aapuno Gujarat', a special series of ground events in four major cities - Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. Each event will have three top-line guests and members of the public to participate. The programme pushes the public to opine about autocratic attitude, style of functioning, development of the State, policies and other important issues that were under scrutiny during Narendra Modi's regime. The Zee News team will travel across Gujarat to conduct opinion polls which will be telecast on 'Bol Gujarat Bol'. The voting days will see in-depth coverage on the channel.
There will be a one-hour composite exit poll with some of the top political leaders and analysts. A tie-up with AC Nielson for the counting day, December 23, 2007, will ensure in-depth coverage through out the day on the channel. To compliment the coverage, zeenews.com is setting up a micro-site with exhaustive information on the election like poll schedule, State profile, current party positions, the political careers and profiles, Chief Ministerial candidates, key constituencies and issues that will be the deciding factors besides regular news and updates from the State. On the counting day, the website will have live results giving the overall picture as well as region-wise outcome. For more action, tune into Zee News.
