Raj Kapoor comes alive on Zee Cinema

Zee Cinema presents a film festival titled The Showman Show, featuring the excellence of the master of Indian cinema – Raj Kapoor. Beginning August 19, The Showman Show will telecast the legend’s greatest movies, every Sunday at 8:30pm.


The Showman Show was launched at a unique exhibition at the NCPA, Mumbai, showcasing artefacts from Raj Kapoor’s films, like his costume from Shri 420, the doll from Mera Naam Joker and production stills from Satyam Shivam Sundaram. The exhibition was inaugurated by Raj Kapoor’s son Randhir Kapoor.  


“Indian Cinema has evolved and grown with each Raj Kapoor films. Zee Cinema has crafted a break content based on trivia and interesting snippets of information about the legendary filmmaker,” stated Mohan Gopinath, Deputy Business Head - Zee Cinema.


The Showman Show gives the audience an opportunity to experience the man that Raj Kapoor was. The film festival will be interspersed with Aaj Bhi Raj – A Retrospect – one-minute interstitials filled with trivia that will run during the movies. This segment will be anchored by director Kunal Kohli.


Besides, Raj Kapoor’s family and friends who have been associated with him will encapsulate his work and share behind–the-scenes information.
