The weekend was filled with action with matches in the Edelweiss 20s Challenge. In the sixth match of the series the Delhi Giants beat the Chandigarh Lions by 34 runs. It was a grudge match of sorts between these two important North Indian city teams who have had a history of close matches in pervious editions of the competitive Indian Cricket League. The Lions came out triumphs in this big match beating the Giants. The promising domestic player TP Singh was declared the Man of the Match for his all round performance.
The seventh match of the Edelweiss 20s Challenge was the debut match for the grand new venue of the ICL in Hyderabad. The Lal Bahadur Stadium situated at Basheer Bagh, played host to the big match between hosts Hyderabad Heroes and defending champions, Chennai Superstars. The Heroes scored a magnificent victory defeating the Chennai Superstars by seven wickets. Justin Kemp and Nicky Boje shared the man of the match for their magnificent partnership.
The eight match of the Edelweiss 20s Challenge featured two formidable sides the Ahmedabad Rockets and Delhi Giants. The Rockets, who started their campaign at the Edelweiss 20s Challenge with a bang, took on one of the top contenders Giants, at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula. Delhi Giants scored a comprehensive win over the Ahmedabad Rockets, defeating them by nine wickets. Avishka Gunawardene was declared man of the match for his explosive half century.
In the ninth match of the series it was the Lahore Badshahs against the Chandigarh Lions. A quick fire innings of 94 by opener Imran Farhat guided Lahore Badshahs to post a challenging total of one eighty seven for six in the allotted twenty overs in the ninth match of the ongoing Edelweiss ICL 20s being played at Panchkula on Sunday.
On March 16, the queen of controversies, Bollywood's enfant terrible, the hot and happening Rakhi Sawant sizzled on the Edelweiss 20s Challenge stage.
