Zee Interactive Learning Systems Ltd (ZILS) organised a Teachers’ Training Workshop and Orientation Programme for KIDZEE HIGH School teachers, in Mumbai. The main theme of the orientation/ In-service Training Programme was child-centred, activity-based and joyful self learning. The programme was designed for the teachers teaching the primary classes (Class 1-5) in CBSE affiliated schools and following, broadly, the NCERT/CBSE/ curriculum/ textbooks.
The Orientation Programme broadly covered the National Policy on Education –1986 – modified 1992, the Yashpal Committee Report on ‘Lessening the Burden of Books’ on the young child and the National Curriculum Framework of School Education – 2005 and its implications on the teaching - learning programme in schools.
During the workshop sessions, the participants identified and developed teacher-pupil activities to be organised in various subjects along with projects, practical assignments, work sheets and evaluation exercises for assessing various competencies, skills, proficiencies and learning acquired by the children. A post-programme self-evaluation and assessment of the effectiveness of the course was also done to conclude the programme.
“The curriculum and instruction methodology adopted by KIDZEE HIGH makes a very distinctive contribution to the education of students. It is therefore necessary to have a proper Orientation/ In-service Training Programme for the teachers so as to enable them to discharge their functions and duties as a teacher, efficiently and effectively,” said Shobha Thakur, HR Head, ZILS.
