Training for the DTH industry

A dishtv distributor has started The Institute of Satellite Telecom (ISTC) in Pune, which offers courses to train people to suit the needs of the DTH industry.


ISTC is affiliated with the Satellite Systems Corporation, Virginia Beach, USA leaders in R&D as well as manufacturers and technical support providers for sitcom products.


The set-up in Pune has well-furnished air conditioned classrooms supported by advanced infrastructure for audio and video projection. The institute uses earth stations and antennas and test equipment. Field training will also be carried out in Noida.


The institute will promote professional excellence in the field of satellite telecommunication by imparting training with a strong practical and field orientation. The course involves a two-week job orientated capsule. The syllabus is covered in ten days followed by practical demonstrations.


The minimum qualification required to apply for the course is a Class 12 pass in the Science faculty or an ITI certificate course in Electronics and Telecommunication, Electricals or computer stream.
