Traditional Indian dresses, myriad of colors flooding Union Square, fashion shows entertaining communities and a cut out poster of the one and only Shahrukh Khan! These were the incredible sights which filled The Heart of San Francisco during "&TV Spring India Day"!
&TV Spring India Day went far beyond the usual fun and bonding activities of the average community event. We organized various fashion shows highlighting Cancer Survivors & Brides of India. We also honored local community heroes - Cancer Survivors, with certificates and sashes. These brave men and women walked down the ramp in stylish Indian attire and as a perfect complement to the inspiring atmosphere, they made their way down the ramp to the music of "I will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor playing in the background. &TV also sponsored a fashion show featuring bridal dresses from the various regions of India. The enormous crowd was surprised to say the least when they witnessed 10 different bridal dresses coming from the same country representing the immense diversity of India! Additionally, we also organized a RED IPhone Raffle, purchase of which contributes directly to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa ensuring &TV touched countless communities.
&TV organized much more than the fashion shows for the eager audience- A Hanging Polaroid Photo Booth with our logos added extra color to the event! Adults and kids made their way around the Living Foodz booths used by several regional Indian food vendors & collected various giveaways like sunglasses, t-shirts, phone grips with hashtags #ZEEAmericas, and aprons. &TV added its own sense of liveliness to the event through the raffles, and a fun photo booth with Indian props making sure that attendees left feeling further connected to the Indian Heritage!
