South African fans of ZEE were granted a special treat when Zee World and Zee TV star, Gurmeet Choudhary, flew in for a whirlwind to Johannesburg and Durban. Known for his talents on the small screen, Choudhary has also amassed a huge fan base due to his modelling and dance career.
Arriving in the country on July 13, Choudhary kicked off his jam-packed visit in Durban, with a tour to a media house followed by an intimate dinner and dance with a meet and greet to about 500 screaming fans. The humble star gave his time graciously for each fan, posing for individual pictures.
'Married Again' (Punar Vivah) star said: "I really love and appreciate each fan. In fact, I have had so many offers from ladies in Africa offering to be my wife."
On July 15, he flew to Johannesburg for various engagements with press and fans, going to Sandton for an impromptu meet and greet and concluding the weekend with a dinner and dance in Centurion on July 16.
He had a lead role in the popular Zee TV show Punar Vivah (and on Zee World as well as Zee Bollynova - Married Again) as Yash Sindhia, a widower father of two.
He has a huge following in South Africa and is greatly loved by the Zee TV and Zee World audiences especially in Africa.
Accompanying him was another surprise visitor, actor Romanch Mehta. Mehta is currently on Zee TV in the colourful mythological drama Paramavatar Shri Krishna. The unassuming actor who plays the role of Vrishbhanu, Radha's father in the series was blown away by the reception received in SA.
He mentioned that fans can also look forward to his new series Gangaa, which would also be flighted on the African channels.
