It is said that love is the greatest power that unites us, tears us apart, and brings opposites together with such profound impact that they become one. Such is the story of Parna and Srijan, two arbitrary personalities who are brought together and unified in love's timeless embrace.
Zee Bangla brings yet another story that portrays characters deeply rooted to the traditions and culture of Bengal.
The story of Neem Phuler Modhu is about the romantic and emotionally demanding one-year journey of Parna Roy and Srijan Dutta after their marriage. The story evolves as the protagonists who are complete opposites in their outlook towards life and marriage starts gravitating towards each other. It portrays the evolution of a young Bengali girl through her inter-personal relationships with two generations which are Shashuri ma (Mother-In-Law) and Didi-Shashuri ma (Great Grandmother In-Law) while living in a joint family.
The characters have personality arcs unlike any other – Parna, an optimistic go-getter who is pursuing an MBA, and wants a happy joint family, living in harmony with everyone. Which is why, she wants to go the arranged marriage way. On the other end is Srijan, of the Duttas of North Kolkata. Srijan is a typical mamma's boy, who harbours age-old notions of marriage, where the woman stays at home and raises a family. Parna is anything but! So soon after their marriage, what follows is a story full of twists and turns, where both Parna and Srijan come to terms with each other and love blossoms between the two. What starts out as an arranged marriage becomes one born of love, and theirs becomes a story that will not just wow viewers, but leave them wanting for more!
The lead characters are played by well-loved faces on television – Pallabi Sharma & Rubel Das, along with veteran actress Lily Chakraborty and popular television actors Biswanath Basu, Sanjukta Roy, Rishav Chakraborty, Subrata Guha Roy, Tanusree Goswami, Ujjwal Malakar, Manasi Sengupta, Uday Pratap Singh, Arghya Mukherjee, Arijita Mukherjee, Shaili Bhattacharya, Prasun Guin, Nabanita Malakar, Debosmit & Soumi.
The show promises the production excellence of Zee Bangla in-house production team.
This show will revisit many forgotten parts of Bengali culture and rituals ingrained in big fat Bengali Wedding and showcase the rooted nostalgia of a joint family. It will also have an eternal love story following the most basic and relatable concept of human relationships- opposites attract and the portrayal of the genuine warmth of Bangaliyana.
Welcome Bengal's sweetest tale into your hearts and homes starting 14th November, Everyday, 8 PM only on Zee Bangla.
