Mar 01, 2019
Zee Bangla, having launched its talent-nurturing platform, 'Yes Bangla', in September, 2018, has been on the lookout for fresh and untapped talents ever since. Aspirant actors and scriptwriters were handpicked by industry experts through extensive auditions held across the length and breadth of the state, gathering a pool of talents in order to cater to the industry demands and fuel the momentum.

Based on the 3 universal concepts of 'Search', 'Select' and 'Shape', the initiative is aimed to explore creative resources for the Bangla television and film industry. With the Bangla television and film industry on a consistent growth track, there is an impending need for fresh talents. 'Yes Bangla' is a perfect initiative towards bridging this gap, by not only sourcing talents in an organised manner, but also moderate the relevant resources and feed the industry for its optimal best use, thus taking it forward.

The initiatives 1st phase is culminating in a 7-day residential workshop being held at Kolkata from 22nd February to 28th February, 2019. Present on the occasion will be Sri Samrat Ghosh, Business Head, Zee Bangla & Zee Bangla Cinema, who will also speak about the journey of 'Yes Bangla' so far and the way forward. Right from sessions on meditation and aerobics to overall personality grooming and portfolio development, 'Yes Bangla' offers a scientifically designed curriculum to take care of the all-round development of the participants, thereby bringing out the best in them, keeping the aesthetic elements of acting as well as technicalities in mind. Special workshops were conducted by guest faculty like Sudipta Chakraborty and Shantilal Mukherjee.

How Yes Bangla Works: Talents can upload their videos and word content by simply registering on yesbangla.in, which boasts of a fairly simple interface for ease of use by everyone. The data is managed by a multi-level screening team, before being shortlisted for auditions held at different locations across Bengal. Talents shortlisted at these auditions are then invited to attend a special 7-day workshop in Kolkata, where they are mentored by celebrity panellists in areas relevant to their respective categories. Each of them are certified by 'Yes Bangla', while Zee Bangla reserves the first right of refusal before opening the talent pool for industry absorption.
