Apr 12, 2018

A letter from the popular stand-up comedy show Chala Hawa Yeu Dya is now a part of the State Government of Maharashtra's 10th std SSC textbook Kumarbharati

Zee Marathi's popular stand-up comedy show Chala Hawa Yeu Dya creates yet another milestone by becoming a part of the SSC curriculum. A letter from the show's popular segment “Patras Karan Ki” (A reason for letter writing), which features heartfelt letters about a person or a subject, is now a part of the State Government of Maharashtra's 10th std SSC textbook Kumarbharati.

The letters featured on Chala Hawa Yeu Dya are authored by Arvind Jagtap and are known to have left an indelible mark on the audience's mind often overwhelming them with emotion. A collection of these letters was also released as a stand-alone book in December 2017 titled “Patras Karan Ki” which sold out its 9th edition in March 2018. Its 10th edition is being readied to launch soon to meet the rising demand by readers.

The skill of letter writing is a dwindling one in today's era of mobiles and internet. The letter selected for SSC's 10th std textbook is carefully chosen in the hopes of reviving this skill and reminding readers of the unique heartfelt quality of a well written letter. Written from the school guard's perspective to students, it talks about following your passions and choosing non-traditional career options post school.

Chala Hawa Yeu Dya is Maharashtra's number 1 Non-Fiction show and has multiple records to its name including the fact that it is the only show on any Indian GEC to be shot in 11 countries. Zee Marathi started Chala Hawa Yeu Dya's international tour this year with an ambitious tagline – Jithe Marathi, Thithe Zee Marathi (wherever there is Marathi, there will also be Zee Marathi). The show has truly lived up to that thought by not only crossing national borders to reach Maharashtrians across the globe but also becoming a part of Maharashtrian lives across generations.

The show's humble attempts at promoting Marathi movies, theatre and TV shows have reached millions of households. The platform has been graced by the likes of Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Vidya Balan coming on to promote their films. Even master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar made a rare appearance on the show to share stories of his formative years while launching 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams'.

As the show continues its journey forward we invite you to share a laugh. Chala Hawa Yeu Dya airs every Monday & Tuesday at 9:30pm only on Zee Marathi.
