Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA), one of the leading animation institutes in India, today announced its animation scholarship 'Zee Scholarship'. This scholarship will serve as a gateway for students keen to make a career in the exciting and unbounded world of animation.
Under this campaign ZICA will provide scholarship upto 100%, applicable in all ZICA centers across India. The scholarship would be based on first come – first serve basis. To qualify for the scholarship students need to register at a ZICA centre and take a test, called the Creativity Test. Students will be awarded scholarship based on their performance in this test. Under this scholarship one can choose from an array of courses available at ZICA centres.
Mr. Prabhanjan Chappar, Business Head, Youth, Zee Learn elaborated, “Today the industry of media and animation is at an all time boom. With the media industry opening up to absorb new professionals, young talent needs a credible foundation to guide them in this path to success. With this scholarship we aim to provide an avenue to meritorious students who are eager to pursue a career in animation.”
Animation and VFX is a thriving career in India. Today animation is entailed in every possible industry from entertainment, like films, TV commercials, cartoon movies etc to engineering, architecture, interior designing, education, gaming etc. It is estimated that there is a huge requirement for skilled animators in the industry. Apart from the glamour quotient attached to it, the field also attracts youth due to it's a good pay pacages. A recent study by NASSCOM shows that the animation industry in India is set to grow at a CAGR of 27% to reach USD1163 million by 2012 where as the gaming industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 33 % over 2009-13 to reach Rs 27.4 billion.
